A Little About Me
In 2009, I had just moved to a new town and was in need of some creative therapy to restore my wellbeing and happiness. Looking for a new hobby in a strange place, I attended a pottery evening class.
I had a special, indescribable feeling the moment I touched the clay, and I fell in love. I subsequently immersed myself in art and continued to develop my skills, enrolling in a course to study my passion.
I began selling a few pieces to friends and family that told others about my work and after a successful response, I decided to invest further into this by setting up a pottery studio at home in Peterborough.
From here, I run pottery workshops. I adore seeing my students develop their creativity and confidence, from starting as novices to finding their own sense of style with clay and creating beautiful, unique works of art.
I love the community of people coming together and sharing the experience of pottery that shaped me.
I now sell my work in Cambridge, All Saints Gardens Art and Craft Market and London’s Covent Gardens Apple Market, creating various forms of ceramics, both functional and decorative.
What Inspires Me
I am inspired by nature and the delicate lightness and style of ceramic art from the Mediterranean. I use flora, slips and a range of commercial glazes to decorate my work, creating my individual style.
Every dish and ornament is handmade, but I like to add a clean finish.
My work has the uniqueness of a bespoke item with the pristine quality of machine-made ceramics.
